Deck the halls with……..children’s artwork! And you will see a lot of this appearing as you walk through the hallways of the building. The preschool children are working very hard to adorn their classrooms and hallways with all of their treasured Christmas decorations. On December 8th & 10th the preschool children will have their Christmas programs. The church sanctuary will be filled to capacity with families listening to these precious little ones telling the story of Jesus’ coming as the most wonderful gift to all of us that first Christmas. A birth-day party for Jesus will follow these wonderful performances in their classrooms. Classroom parties will be happening on the 18th with childcare following the first 3 days of the next two weeks. Staff will be off for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. School will resume January 4th.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to all who participated in our an-nual silent auction and pie fundraiser. We raised around $7000.00 from both and should receive some from Thrivent Matching Program. This money will be used for playground improvements this spring replacing/adding wood chips and replacing the timbers that enclose the fall zone area. We appreciate all of your con-tinued and kind support in our efforts.

As we anticipate the birthday of our Lord and Savior, and the coming of a New Year, the staff of Salem Lu-theran School would like to wish all of you a very blessed Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with much joy and peace.

SCRIP

Christmas is a great time to participate in our school’s SCRIP program. SCRIP cards make great gifts. They can also be used to purchase gifts at local merchants or online. We have a few cards each week that can be purchased immediately but there are hundreds more than can be ordered. The school receives a rebate from the companies that participate. Orders are placed each Monday morning by 9am to SCRIP and cards are delivered to us Fed Ex by Wednesday morning. If you would be interested in learning more about this program and ordering gift cards, please give me a call or stop by the school office. I would be happy to assist you with this.

Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to all!
